Hair color specialist and master stylist, Bob Kompier, is a member of the TWC庐 design team. Each season, he reviews the latest wig color trends and chooses the newest, most flattering colors for our customers. Here are 5 tips to take into consideration when selecting a wig color:
Avoid going more than two shades lighter or darker than your natural hair color.
Going too light or too dark will be dramatic, but might not be the best result for you.
- If you want a dramatic change, consider making gradual changes by going lighter or darker a little at a time.
The great advantage of wearing wigs is that you can easily get to the color you want without chemically damaging your hair.
When going blonde, consider what color your hair was when you were a child.
If you were blonde when you were a child, chances are blonde will also work for you as an adult. Go a little darker than the shade you used to be, in order to look best with your current skin tone.
Golden highlights brighten your complexion and make you look more youthful.
If your hair is auburn, choose copper highlights. Natural brunettes look best with caramel, and blondes look best with honey tones. Synthetic wig fibers and human hair products are pre-blended with these natural looking highlights. Wearing wigs enables you to achieve salon colors much easier and less costly than salon color applications on your natural hair.
Choose a shade that looks great with your skin tone and eye color.
For the most natural look, choose a color that's close to your own or slightly lighter. As we age, our skin tone tends to look a little washed out, but choosing the right hair color can help us look younger.
Each wig color from TWC is designed with a blend of fiber shades to provide a rich, natural-looking color you'll be proud to call your own. Check out our Wig Color Chart for a complete overview of our current color selection.
